Day 1: Arrive in Winnipeg for your Overnight Stay
Arrive in Winnipeg where you will enjoy a relaxing stay at our choice hotel, The Grand by Lakeview at the Winnipeg Airport. Your winter gear fitting and collection will take place at 5 pm prior to meeting the rest of your group at an orientation dinner hosted by a representative.
Day 2 to 5: Seal River Heritage Lodge
After a restful night in Winnipeg you will depart for Churchill. Upon arrival, be met by our expediter who will explain how the charters to the Lodge will work. After a short flight over the Bay, arrive at Seal River Heritage Lodge where you’ll be greeted by your guides and hosts who will show you to your room. After settling in, enjoy a delicious lunch before your guides provide you with an orientation on travelling safely in polar bear country and then you’ll head out for your first wildlife hike!
The remainder of your days at Seal River will start with a hot breakfast followed by your morning excursion. After a few hours out on the tundra, seeking out polar bears and other Arctic wildlife, you’ll head back to the Lodge for lunch.
Rested and refreshed, embark on an afternoon hike, pursuing another eye-level encounter like no other.
Evenings start with appetizers, followed by one of our signature tundra-inspired meals. After dinner, relax in our lounge and enjoy a presentation by one of our knowledgeable guides.
Bedtime is at your leisure. We monitor the Lodge area all night so be prepared to have your sleep cut short by one of our dazzling displays of northern lights!
Day 6 to 9: Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge
Time to head to the second stop of your dual-lodge experience! Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge is about 250 km southeast of Churchill and the 90-minute charter flight will include a fly over of York Factory, the hub of the historic fur trade. Upon arrival, you will once again be met by your host(s) and given the opportunity to settle into your rooms.
Your days at Nanuk will be filled with more exciting wildlife encounters. The wildlife at Nanuk is diverse and includes polar bears, wolves, moose, and Arctic and coloured fox.
Daily outings typically include coastal exploration to the tidal flats and Hudson Bay shoreline using a combination of people power (walking!) and our specially outfitted all-terrain vehicles. Routes will vary but ample time will be provided to photograph polar bears and the other wildlife that abound in this unique environment.
Your evenings at Nanuk will be much the same as at Seal with plenty of time for visiting, relaxing around the fire, sharing photographs and enjoying informative presentations by your guides.
Day 10: Exploring Churchill, Back to Winnipeg
After one last hearty Lodge breakfast, we will begin air transfers back to Churchill. Have your cameras ready for the return flight as it affords excellent opportunities for great aerial shots.
Back in Churchill, you’ll spend the day with one of our tour guides exploring the town and surrounding area, learning about its rich history as a seaport and ex-military base. Your tour will include stops such as the Parks Canada exhibit, the Itsanitaq Museum, and the Polar Bear Jail. Along the way, your guide will point out murals that were commissioned in 2016 as part of the SeaWalls mural festival. Before a group dinner, your guide will give you free time to shop for last-minute souvenirs at the unique gift stores in Churchill.
Your flight south to Winnipeg will take place this evening. Upon arrival, collect your bags, head out of the arrivals doors and back to The Grand Hotel.
Day 11: Depart Winnipeg
Today you will fly home on your own travel arrangements, marking the end of your adventure and the beginning of a lifetime of savoring the experiences of the Arctic.

At Eclipse Travel, our expert destination knowledge and decades of travel planning experience come at no extra cost to you. While many think booking through a tour operator is more expensive than planning a trip independently, that’s not the case. We’re paid by our travel partners—such as hotels, activity operators, and cruise providers—via commissions, not by our clients.
Our team negotiates the best rates for you and ensures you receive unbiased advice, with no preference for any particular supplier. In fact, where we secure higher commissions, we often pass the savings on to you, giving us a competitive price edge.
Additionally, we lock in exchange rates at the time of your deposit, ensuring no surprise costs when it’s time for final payment. You can rest easy knowing we’ll handle the details with our suppliers. The only exceptions are national park fee increases or fuel surcharges imposed after your booking, though these are rare.
Take advantage of our team’s expertise and let us help you plan the perfect holiday—hassle-free!
