If there is a heaven on earth for scuba divers, it's the Galapagos Islands. This 4 day land based tour offers the perfect blend of exploring the wildlife of the Galapagos both above and below the water as we include 2 full day diving trips and a visit to the Tortoise Breeding Center. Add this trip onto your cruise or extend with some more days on land to further explore this incredible destination
Day 1: Arrive to Baltra and transfer to Santa Cruz Island
Upon arrival to Baltra, our representative will meet you and transfer you to Santa Cruz Island where you will reach the highlands of the Islands. Visit a ranch where you can meet the Giant tortoises of Galapagos in their natural habitat. Another attraction here is an excursion through the lava tunnel in order to receive an explanation of the geological formation of the Islands.
After lunch, you will be transferred to Puerto Ayora to check-in to your selected hotel.
Optional conservation activity:
After lunch we will proceed to leave our “soul print” in the Galapagos Islands and you will be part of the project of conservation on the Island. The program consists in planting your own tree in Primicias Ranch, this tree will have your name on and later on, you will receive a certificate for actively supporting in the maintenance of the Galapagos' ecosystem.
Day 2: Diving in Gordon Rocks
After breakfast, transfer to Gordon Rocks which is located one hour away from Santa Cruz. It is an extinct volcanic crater with a sand deep floor of 32 meters. This is the most famous diving point at the Galapagos due to its strong currents and here you will be able to see species of open sea. Occasionally, you will see schools of Hammerhead sharks, rays, reef fishes and with luck the whale shark.
In the afternoon, return back to your hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.
Breakfast and lunch included.
