There is also no pressure on any of our bike tours for participants to cycle all the time; there will be an accompanying mini-van travelling beside the cycling group at all times for those who need a break.

Day 1: Havana Arrival
Arrival in Havana and make your way to your accommodation. A transfer can be included at an additional cost. Evening at leisure.
Day 2: Havana – Pinar del Río
After breakfast, around 08:30 a.m., you will meet your guide and be taken to Pinar del Río, the main tobacco region of western Cuba. You will visit a tobacco factory and explore the town through a guided city walk. Afterwards you will continue to the Viñales Valley where your cycling holidays in Cuba will really begin. In this region the legendary Cuban tobacco grows between the crags and rocks of the steep cliffs due to the favourable climate and condition of the soil. Here you will come across the famous rock formations, referred to as mogotes as well as many caves. We will have lunch in a typical Cuban restaurant, and after a short rest we will get ready for our first bike tour (approx.10km). A visit to Cueva del Indio is included in this tour - an incredible cave with the River San Vicente.

Day 3: Excursion to Cayo Jutías
Today, our Cuba itinerary plans a journey to Cayo Jutias. After breakfast we will set off for a 55 km tour, enjoying the breathtaking views of the Sierra de los Órganos, which lies in the North West. The picturesque beach of Cayo Jutías is situated on a little island connected to the mainland by a man-made causeway. Once there, we will have lunch by the beach, and later we can hire a boat or have a swim in the beautiful sea. On the way back we can either take the bus or cycle back to Viñales to the hotel Rancho San Vicente, where we will be having dinner and spending the night.

Day 4: Valle Ancón
On today’s tour we will take the Jagua Vieja Road to Palma in Ancón Valley, a 30 km tour of enchanting landscapes and untouched valleys. On our route there is the possibility of visiting the country lodge where Fidel Castro held secret meetings during the Cuban Revolution. We will have a picnic lunch in the lush valley before continuing to our next destination: hotel Villa Aguas Claras, nestling in idyllic surroundings which are perfect for a short hike or walk. In the Villa we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 5: Soroa
After breakfast we will be taken to Cueva de los Portales. This beautiful area was the hide-out that Che Guevara used during the 1962 standoff with President Kennedy. We will start the daily bicycle tour (approx. 45 km) to Soroa over the Carretera Central. In Soroa, we recommend paying a visit to its famous orchid gardens. For dinner we will meet at the hotel Villa Soroa, where we will also spend the night.

Day 6: Las Terrazas
Today’s Cuba itinerary will lead us to Las Terrazas. The community is located in the Sierra Rosario. The 25, 000 hectare lot was declared a biosphere resort by UNESCO. Nowadays, the inhabitants live off eco-tourism and the timber industry. You will eat at a farm house on the way. Overnight

Day 7: Havana
After breakfast you will be taken by bus to Havana. After a short relaxing break at the hotel you will have lunch at a local restaurant in the old part of the city. Afterwards you will have time in the afternoon to explore the rest of the city by yourself.

Day 8: Departure
Today marks the end of your cycling holidays in Cuba. Use the morning for final souvenir shopping or exploring further hidden spots around beautiful Habana Vieja before being transferred to Havana international Airport.

On this tour you will cycle on tarred roads where traffic is limited. Cycling routes are mostly on flat terrain, however some uphill cycling over short distances is also possible.
